The long-delayed Miles Davis remix project is out on August 7. It’s a five-track EP with performances from Santana and Nas. It’s disappointing that this project has been in the works for such a long time (this Legacy Recordings page has it as a May 2004 release) and is only yielding five remixes. Why bother? Here’s the press release.
On the subject of jazz remixes, Austin Iredale, senior of English Literature at the University of Colorado, has written an excellent review of last year’s Re-Bop: The Savoy Remixes release.
